The national costume: Kystdrakten
Kystdrakten was originally made for women.
It is prepared by Marry Hunnestad Schjetne. After a few years Eva Ramberg Mo
took over and developed the female suit and the model made for men. From 1989,
the people along the coast of Norway acquired the suit, and the number of suits
passed the total of 10,000 a few years ago.
Kystdrakten is made of wool and is
embellished with embroidery of coastal flowers and the bird tern. The shirts
are made of white cotton, with embroidery of the Norwegian Krekling. The women
suit consists of skirt with a bib and braces. (Bilder kommer)
